Out and About is dedicated to providing time and space that is child-centered, interest-led, inquiry-driven, educator-supported, and creating connection through play on the land.
We believe that child-led and inquiry-based learning is when we don't know what the lesson will be until play brings it out (and about!)
Out and About FNS
Who are we?
Out and About was established with the aim of inspiring children to engage in outdoor play, exploration, and curiosity.
The foundation of our mission is to introduce our community to the significance of placing trust in children’s abilities while guiding them in their play. Learning and trusting in the child’s capabilities is an important aspect of Out and About.
The goal of our programs is to encourage the development of self-regulation, self-assurance, a valued relationship with nature, and problem-solving skills that will enhance their everyday lives.
We share stories, foster a sense of achievement, self-confidence and well-being.
We are committed to providing space and time to foster a connection with the natural environment for all.

We offer a school-age, pre-school, and family program in Petawawa! Our urban space programs encourage connection and community with each other, ourselves, and the land.
Forester Falls
Our stunning Forester Falls location offers programs for youth to develop their outdoor survival and tool skills, as well as a school-age, pre-school and family program!
Renfrew
Our warm and inviting space in Renfrew offers a community program for families to connect and build relationships. We also offer space for a collaboration programs
